The end is nigh! The end of Summer that is. Officially, Summer ends on Wednesday, 22 September – that’s less than a month away! We hope you’ve managed to soak up some sunny rays, even if we haven’t been able to jet off to exotic locations like we usually would have. We’ve certainly managed to safely top up our tans while using mywipe suncream sachets!
Now, summer may be nearly over, but that doesn’t mean we’re safe from those harmful UV rays. It is easy to think you should only remain vigilant during the warmer months due to the intense heat, but this couldn’t be further from the case. Sun protection is vital throughout the year. In the right conditions, UV rays can be just as damaging in the Winter!
Of course, Summer is the most dangerous time for UVB rays, the main cause of sunburn, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. In fact, should you be at higher altitudes or around water, snow or ice, you could be more at risk than you realise. Snow reflects 80% of the UV light, so you actually get hit by it twice. Once from above and once from below! Hopefully it won’t be snowing any time soon, but it’s worth keeping in mind.
