Hygiene advice – Outbreak of novel coronavirus

 

Following the outbreak of  of the novel coronavirus, which has spread internationally from its source in China, the Department of Health and Social Care, in conjunction with NHS England, have launched a UK wide public information campaign to advise the public on how to protect themselves and others by reducing the risk of spreading the virus.

The key advice is:

  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze
  • Bin the tissue, and to kill the germs, wash your hands with soap or sanitizer

Where regular hand washing facilities are not available, it is advised to use sanitizer gels and wipes.
